The Design
The Leg Declaration
AFRIKA — in clean white block type — descends from hip toward ankle, one letter at a time, spaced down the right leg. FOR appears in gold: a deliberate shift in tone, a pause, a pivot. AFRIKANS continues in white, completing the claim at the cuff. The letters are large. The ground is dark. Nothing else is competing for space.
The Waistband
Wrapped around the ribbed waistband in mixed type weights and two tones — white and gold: For those who must return. For those who never left. The heavier words land on "must return" and on "never left." Two declarations. Two communities. One sentence carried at the waist — seen every time you look down to tie the drawstring, felt every time you step into them.
